A LITTLE ABOUT US

We supply public transport systems to Councils and Service Providers. Founded in 2003 under the name Radiola Aerospace Ltd, we also specialise in aeronautical navigation aid, installation, flight inspection and flight validation which takes us around the world to provide this specialist service.

We have a strong team of 15 staff including dedicated system engineers, project management and business development personnel.

Radiola has been running Waikato Regional Council’s real-time passenger information system in Hamilton City for over 10 years. We operate and manage the complete solution right down to the bus hardware, reporting software, on-street passenger displays and full system maintenance.

More recently we have focused on the development of public transport solutions to provide the trending technologies and systems to New Zealand agencies.

THESE TECHNOLOGIES INCLUDE:

eStop

ePaper on-street passenger displays

Our most exciting trending technology! Mercury Innovation, the engineering company we have collaborated with, has been using ePaper display technology for road clearway signage over the past 3 years and has recently started producing a smaller display for regulatory parking signs. ePaper has only just emerged as a small trial at a handful of key bus stops in London.

BEACONS

Bluetooth LE iBeacon/Eddystone smartphone integration

A key component in the concept of the “Internet of Things”.  Beacons are used to create online customer interactions with offline products and services by offering a customer’s a smartphone benefit (information, voucher, time saving, etc.) at specific physical locations (bus stop, retail store, coffee shop, etc.). This practice is commonly referred to as “Offline, Online, Offline” interactions. Beacons are used internationally by airlines, retail stores and even zoos.

OPEN-SOURCE RTPI SYSTEMS

Transitime

Steering away from the need to purchase clunky and expensive proprietary RTPI systems that claim to be ‘off the shelf’. With open and well documented standards this software stops agencies from being locked-in to one large provider. Instead it gives them the freedom to pick and choose the best suppliers for each system function.

GTFS REAL TIME

Put the information where your riders want it

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Google Maps is fast becoming the internationally recognized way to plan any mode of travel.
The simple, intuitive and standard platform allows any user to quickly plan a trip from A to B. Having accurate and up-to-date information for users is an effective way to keep confidence levels high. Google Maps can provide live trip updates, service alerts and vehicle positions.
As more agencies adopt this form of communication the level of personalization that Google will provide to its users smartphones will only
get better.
